Mission

Satanism in the Colorado community

Founded in June 2016, we are a local congregation of a non-theistic, Satanic religion with specific affirmative values and principles.

Politically aware, civic-minded Satanists and allies in The Satanic Temple have publicly opposed The Westboro Baptist Church, advocated on behalf of children in public school to abolish corporal punishment, applied for equal representation where religious monuments are placed on public property, provided religious exemption and legal protection against laws that unscientifically restrict reproductive autonomy, exposed fraudulent harmful pseudo-scientific practitioners and claims in mental health care, and applied to hold clubs along side other religious after school clubs in schools besieged by proselytizing organizations.

Our congregants recognize and celebrate the mythology surrounding the figure of Satan, particularly that of the Romantic Period, as a powerful metaphor symbolic of rebellion against tyranny and arbitrary authority while also living by Enlightenment values.

We do not worship Satan, in fact we do not believe in a literal Satan and reject any and all superstition and supernaturalism. Further, we are not The Church of Satan nor are we associated with The Church of Satan.

As a congregation, our goal is to continue contributing to our communities through campaigns and drives while also celebrating our faith with each other and those who wish to celebrate with us.

The mission of the Colorado Congregation of The Satanic Temple is to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense and justice, and be directed by the human conscience to undertake noble pursuits guided by the individual will.

We are first and foremost a community of religious Satanists residing in Colorado. We recognize that we are uniquely positioned in the struggle against theocratic institutions, however we are not a catch-all activist group or an anti-Christian organization.
